This month we spent a fabulous evening at Pickering Book Tree, an amazing independent book shop not far from the Distillery with a sustainability ethos that matches our own. For every 50 books they sell, they plant a tree! One tree on average produces more than 200 paperback books, and most books are made from sustainability managed forests; so they're replacing the trees that they sell as books.
We love gin and we love reading so we combined the two into a glorious summer evening with sampling, cocktails and late-night book shopping.
And yes, we did serve some literary-pun cocktails :)
"Harry Potter and the Gimlet of Fire", "A Court of Rhubarb and Roses" and the classic (literally) "Gin Eyre"
