Yesterday, Becky (Production Manager) and Emma (Social Media, Marketing and Events Coordinator) stepped away from the Distillery and into the local fields of North Yorkshire — hand foraging fresh gorse that goes into some of our spirits.
Here at Sloemotion Distillery we forage for a lot of our own botanicals — a process that is more than just sourcing ingredients for us; it is also a connection to the land and seasonal produce.
Gorse, a vibrant golden plant native to the UK. The flowers are known for their subtly sweet, coconut aroma 🥥and the ‘leaves’ have a fresh pine flavour🌲, bringing a unique botanical element to our spirits.
This botanical is particularly coarse and spiky, so they made sure that they brought their best gardening gloves along! 🧤
