Biodiversity at Green Farm 🍃
Last weekend some of our team spent Saturday morning at Green Farm by the beck, cutting back overgrown trees and removing dead wood and debris.
This allows more sunlight to reach the beck, helping to increase oxygen levels and improve biodiversity in the water. In turn, this creates a better environment for trout and dace, as well as our local kingfisher, which is often spotted on the farm.
We also removed tree stumps to make room for wildflowers along the beck, which benefits our local Marbled White butterflies, as they prefer grassland habitats rich with wildflowers.
