Chocolate & Rum

The Chocolate Rum invites reflection. The Latin says In vino sapientia est, in wine there is wisdom. This bottle took that as a suggestion, then immediately ignored it.

What it does offer is clarity of a different sort. The clarity that arrives two glasses in, when you realise this is not a drink, it is a well planned ambush. Chocolate first, warm and comforting, then rum, calm and persuasive, working together with unsettling precision.

By the end of the evening I had learned several important lessons. None of them were useful. All of them were unavoidable. The following morning delivered the footnotes.

This is an expertly made drink. Elegant, dangerous, and deeply sure of itself. Wisdom may live in wine, but this bottle specialises in experience.

Thought I would give this a try. Lovely! Smooth, the rum doesn't overpower the chocolate which comes through afterwards. Think it would be best neat with a bit of ice otherwise it will get drowned.
